The firm
CPA4Turkey is the English-language practice of Monetics Serbest Muhasebeci Mali Müşavirlik Ltd. Şti., a Turkish accounting and financial advisory firm with offices in Ankara, Istanbul and London.
We serve more than 450 client companies, of which roughly 90% are foreign-capital, with a team of over 70 accounting, payroll and tax professionals. The firm is ISO 27001 certified for information security — which matters more than it sounds when you are handing over payroll data and management accounts.
That client mix is the whole design. The questions a foreign-owned Turkish entity asks are not the questions a domestic client asks, and a practice built around domestic clients answers them slowly and in the wrong language.
Baran Özongan — Founding Partner
Founding Partner
Baran began his accounting career at Mazars after completing his CPA traineeship, working there for more than five years as a Manager before moving to PwC. At PwC he established the Accounting Services Department in Ankara and ran it for more than five years as a Senior Manager.
During that career he worked with major companies operating in defence, energy, construction, services and information technology, and built extensive experience in reporting under IFRS, US-GAAP and group accounting principles.
He is a licensed Turkish certified public accountant (SMMM) and a member of TÜRMOB and the Ankara Chamber of Certified Public Accountants.
Social security and labour law
Employment structuring, SGK audits, incentive eligibility, and termination and severance disputes are the areas where foreign employers most often get Turkish law wrong — and where getting it wrong is most expensive.
We handle them in-house rather than referring them out, which means the advice comes from the same people who run your payroll and know what is actually on your staff list.
What we do
- Entity establishment. Which structure suits you — limited liability company, joint-stock company, branch or liaison office? Our team completes the formation process and the registrations that follow.
- Registered office address. For companies that need an address before they need an office, temporarily or permanently.
- Accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, tax returns and tax consultancy, performed by qualified professionals rather than administrators.
- Group reporting under IFRS, US-GAAP or your own group manual, with tax accounting integrated.
- Employment incentive management. Turkish law offers significant social security incentives to employers. They are not applied automatically — we review your staff monthly against the incentives in force and manage the claims.
- Social security and labour law consultancy, handled in-house by the team that runs your payroll.
Our philosophy
We do not compromise on independence, our working principles, integrity and ethical approach, or quality.
We try to stay close to our clients, understand their industries and anticipate where they are going, so that the advice is proactive rather than reactive. Our services can be taken individually — accounting, finance, reporting, payroll or personnel — or as a single package covering all of them.
Why companies move to us
The three reasons we hear most often:
They cannot get an answer in English. Every client-facing professional here is an English-speaking certified public accountant, and most of the team began their careers at Big Four firms.
Reporting arrives too late to be useful. A monthly pack that lands after the group consolidation has closed is not reporting, it is archaeology. We agree the date and hit it.
Something was found in a review. An audit finding, a tax inspection, a diligence exercise before a transaction. We are frequently asked to take over books that need remediation, and we tell you plainly what we find before agreeing who fixes what.
